I tried the heli-three finger for the warmth of the mitten portion. Used to be that all top manufacturers offered such a design. Unfortunately this is no longer the case. The quality of construction is overall quite good. The retention lanyard is unique and effective. The design however is lacking. Why would you go to the trouble of making a waterproof breathable shell and then pair it with a unlined, non-seam-sealed leather palm. WHat a waste of waterproof breathable material. Also, the liner is a glove. Most folks buy the three finger option for increased warmth. The five finger liner makes them almost as cold as a standard glove. I was able to use some liners from another pair of trigger finger mitts that I have. Another improvement would be a fabric layer inside of the waterproof breathable fabric. This would make them useful to wear without the liner on warm days, and protect the shell for a longer life span. It is unfortunate that the three finger mitt configuration has gone away. There truly are no great ski mitts anymore. Ten years ago there were loads of them.

I seriously love this glove. It provides the warmth you might expect from a mitten but give you added dexterity with the 3 fingers. Very comfortable and highly recommended!
