As with all Internet retailers, ActiveOutfitters has significant shipping requirements necessary to deliver our gear and apparel to you, our customers. We recognize the global impact our shipping has on the environment, and feel it only makes sense for us to do what we can and try to offset the carbon emissions associated with this process.

Much like we are able to offset our business’ carbon emissions, with the help of Carbonfund.org, we have done an extensive analysis of our shipping requirements to determine exactly what the effect our shipping requirements have on the environment. From source to destination, we have taken into account the production of our packaging materials, their delivery to our facility, our energy requirements to package your orders, and of course, the emissions produced in the delivery process to you, including the size and weight of our packages, and the average distance they travel.

Once we were able to get a firm grasp of exactly what it takes in terms of carbon emissions to ship our products, we were then able to purchase carbon credits through Carbonfund.org to help support a range of projects including renewable energy, energy efficiency and reforestation.
